energy medical attention to the victims. sky 7hd was overhead as crews looked over the boat. known on the ferry was injured. we will bring you up-to-date. >> the damage of the speedboat shows the impact of the accident. as the coast card towed the damaged boat. they showed their video from their phones. >> the first guy was completely not moving. they were doing cpr for a long time. the rescue effort involved emts from the coast guard and a surgeon and nurse who were on the ferry and jumped on the victim's boat to help. the collision occurred after the golden gate ferry ms san francisco was on its way to sausalito to san francisco.

the accident happened south of tiburon in the raccoon strait. none of the people on the ferry were hurt. >> we could feel it. the ferry didn't move that much but you could feel it and you heard it. and we came closer we saw two people lying on the boat. >> the coast guard said the bay was calm with ferries normally sailing at 10 to 15 knots. a spokesperson for the transportation district said the small boat was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit the ferry. it caused a commotion on the waterfront as the coast guard and medical helicopters landed and took off. >> they were doing cpr on one guy. they continued to do cpr. didn't look too good for him. the other guy they brought up in a gurney and loaded him up. he had blood on his takes. >> the coast card was

interviewing witnesses. the ferry captain and five deck hands have been drug tested and placed on administrative leave which is routine in these type of doesn't the. the ferry was pulled out of service but regular ferry service should resume today. abc7 news. this morning a 72-year-old woman is not expect today recover from injuries received when she was hit by a muni bus in daly city. that happened happened about 4:30 yesterday afternoon. it involved the 1846 avenue bus. woman hit by the bus while in the crosswalk. they said the woman's injuries are very serious. they have signed a "do not resuscitate" form. muni driver will undergo standard drug and alcohol testing. >> in oakland police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened near a bart station. sky 7hd was overhead as police responded to reports of gunfire near 8th street yesterday

evening. it's close to the bart station. officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the head. homicide investigators blocked off access to the intersection right after the shooting. bart service was not affected. and in san francisco a vigil was helifor a man shot and killed last week in the city's western addition neighborhood. 23-year-old ernesto died a week ago today. family and friends came together for a ceremony with aztec dancers in nearly alamo square. then they returned to the the scene of the shooting at hayes street for a memorial service. >> i want people to realize how much love this person had, how much love he gave to everyone else, and we just want someone that knows anything to let us know so we can find out what happened to him. >> police have yet to name any suspects in the killing. they are still trying to determine a motive for the crime.

a follow lynn on the richmond san rafael bridge will stay closed most of today. it's part of the ongoing installation of a new automated follow collection system. the lane is scheduled to reopen in time for tomorrow morning's commute. the current follow system 15 years old. officials say it needs to be replaced. currently there are no plans to remove all follow takers from the state-run bridge. about 5,000 people are expected to converge in san francisco today to demand a halt to a proposed oil pipeline. the keystone xl tar sandoval pipeline would extend from alberta, canada to the u.s. gulf coast. it's one of several multi-billion dollars pipeline projects not the work. it would carry oil from the landlocked sandoval oil field, which environmental groups say is a big step in the wrong direction. their so-called forward on climate rally will involve protesters surrounding the san francisco office of the

visibility up towards the north in santa rosa. 8-mile visibility in napa. you notice along the coast, 6 miles half moon bay. and san jose this morning, not bad. but most locations not much of a change. in fact still retaining some of the warmth from yesterday. it's been mild in oakland with the cooling really up in the north bay from novato to santa rosa this morning. partly cloudy and cool in spots with that fog from time to time in our north bay. east bay is looking pretty good with much cooler conditions tomorrow. and then we are looking at low levels. 60s as well as 2,000 feet on tuesday. not looking at a whole lot of moisture associated with the system. the high pressure is holding on for another day and a half. it will still be dry for tomorrow, but for tuesday here comes the front. it's a weak one. and with it the cold air moving on in. showers could greet you as you

head out early to work on tuesday. 5:00 you will notice a few light showers around the city. here comes the sun by about 9:00, 10:00. most of the rain is focused in the coastal hills of the north bay, anywhere from ten to maybe just a quarter to half-inch. not a lot of rain out of the system today. back to the 70s for parts of the san joaquin valley. 71 fresno and upper 60s in los angeles. looking pretty good. taking you back home, notice in the mid-60s. lacking pretty good. 64 redwood city. san francisco low 60s and in the north bay still to the north still mild, 67 in santa rosa. 63 san leandro and out over the hills mid-60s. a look ahead you notice that a cool trend with 50s at our beaches. much cooler tomorrow. notice the rain. by wednesday a little bit of a break. the next system very weak. if anything, we will see some standard light showers. the more new sense rain if we see any. but it will be cool, much

accumulated gambling-related debt. the board's president filed for bankruptcy in 2011 and owed the ir s1 $95,000. he also failed to report campaign contributions. last month his fellow supervisors ordered he repay more than $29,000 in unauthorized charitable donations. >> what is surprising here is his problems, the iranian -- the errors and omissions. >> they are investigating him aggressively and want to know more about questionable charges involving taxpayer dollars. >> it's extraordinary. this isn't something that is happening each and every official. >> a former supervisor has known him for more than two decades. she's worried the needs of district 2 aren't being met. >> i'm sorry that the affairs of

his girlfriend because he thought she was an intruder. prosecutors will showed that they argued and she locked himself in a bathroom where she was shot four times through the door. an idaho man faces a federal charge of a accusations he used a racial slur and slapped a baby who was trying on an airplane. it happened on a delta flight from minneapolis to atlanta. the 19-year-old's mom was sitting next to this man of idaho. she said he reeked of alcohol and continued to drink during the flight. as the plane was about to land her little boy got causecy. he used a racial slur about the child as he told the boy's mother to shut him up but it didn't end there. >> i could not believe that he would say something like that. and to a baby or about a baby. and then to hit him was just -- i felt like i was in another world. i was shaking.

she said other passengers came to her aid and she was able to move to another seat. both parents say they hope he is convicted and punished on the assault charge. new this morning a popular annual event which draws hundreds of thousands to san francisco every year could be on the chopping block if congress and the president can't prevent automatic spending cuts from taking effect. the u.s. navy's blue angels could be grounded if the scheduled budget sequestration isn't resolved by the march 4th deadline. it's san francisco's annual fleet week celebration that the navy jets take part it in. the parade of ships could also be in jeopardy. fleet week organizers tell the newspaper without those two centerpieces fleet week may not happen. that event draws about a million people to san francisco every year. >> still ahead showing skill and determination are a necessity for any job interview but what

conditions, just a couple degrees above freezing. we've gotten away from the cold, cold nights for a little bit but they are coming back. so in fact we are going to see numbers right around freezing tomorrow morning probably this parts of these areas, santa rosa and napa. otherwise looking at temperatures in the low to mid-40s up and around the bay. fog a quarter of a mile, mile and a quarter at livermore. you notice we are looking at more fog to the north. look good in oakland and hayward. numbers certainly cooler electric napa to santa rosa. not much of a change-up ward. partly cloudy and school this morning with much cooler weather. ten degrees cooler than today for tomorrow for president's day. and then cold showers arrive on tuesday. it looks like this area of high pressure continues to hold on for another 24 hours. it is also keeping the storm systems to the north. but a cold system from the gulf will be dropping to the south and if it heads from north to south over the bay area, cooler

air moves on in and we will be looking at these showers 5:00 tuesday morning all around san francisco, vallejo, parts of southern marin. but the front lagging behind. it moves in midmorning. much. the rain will be a quarter to half-inch. 57 big sur, notice the temperatures cooler here at our coast. 67 sacramento and in the 40s in the northern and southern sierra. back home upper 50s half moon bay. 59 in san francisco. you head inland we will be warmer but it's not compared to where we were yesterday. we are still dropping from three to five degrees today. another five to ten degree drop tomorrow for the holiday. here comes the light showers on tuesday. not much on wednesday. and then the rest of the work week we see some clouds and showers but it will be more like cold temperatures that you notice because the rainfall really is few and far between. not much after this little

east contra costa residents have been helping to pay for bart with nothing to show for it sings it was first envisioned in 1958. that's truly a lifetime of waiting. wade harper was born in 1964. >> this means an improved quality of life for our area. it means economic development. it means police and fire getting there safer and expeditiously to save lives. >> this is long overdue, long related rail extension. >> this bart video shows at the new platform passengers will transfer between bart trains and the smaller e-bart train. no fair gates or barrier, just a 28-foot walk. the lighter e-bart costs 60% less than regular bart trains. >> it is really kind of remarkable. there's been a lot of conversation, a lot of quarreling, but i think we are on our way to opening an extension that really makes sense for the region.

look at our weather with meteorologist lisa argen. >> good morning, everyone. a live look outside. there are clouds around but this morning it is colder and there is fog in the north bay. if you head on out you will notice that temperatures have dropped into the 30s. but later on this average length of sunshine and we will look for numbers once again in the 60s. but, yeah, you notice upper 50s here. so we are getting the cool on shore push and the numbers dropping at the coast and all around the bay today. more significantly at the coast. enjoy the day today because overnight tonight we will see more in the way of clouds. and the rest of your holiday weekend, yeah, it does look a little cloudier and certainly cooler. in fact, we are going to see barely a 60-degree temperature for the rest of the weekend. so we will talk about that and when the rain comes, how much rain and how cool it's going to get. we are talking low snow levels here, down to 2,000 feet on tuesday. i will have the details a bit later. carolyn. >> look forward to that. thank you, lisa. golden gate
